Marinara sauce is a tomato sauce usually made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and onions. It is also called "tomato sauce".
Bolognese is mainly made with meat. It has tomato paste, carrots, celery, onion, and garlic, and these ingredients are very well browned and minced to make them a thick sauce.
Pesto consists of crushed garlic, European pine nuts, coarse salt, basil leaves, hard cheese such as Parmigiano-Reggiano, all blended with olive oil.
Fettuccini Alfredo is pasta tossed with butter and Parmesan cheese.
